Egypt tours

The Red Sea can be a setting for swimming, quiet beach days or an active holiday. Your hotel’s shore, room and the facilities you will actually use matter. Set dates and tour inclusions for the particular trip.

Sea, river, oasis

Egypt beyond the familiar beach

Think about the day you would like to add to a seaside holiday: a walk through an old town, a chapter of ancient history or a different landscape. Those wishes make a better starting point than a long list of every sight at once.

Beyond the familiar beach

Open a place that catches your eye to discover its character and ideas for your trip.

Places: 6
Marsa Alam: a nature-focused coastReefs and mangroves

Marsa Alam brings together Red Sea reefs, lagoons and mangroves. Look closer if the coastal landscape matters to your holiday as much as the beach itself.

El Quseir: history beside the seaCitadel, port and souk

An Ottoman-era citadel, an ancient Roman port and a traditional souk give El Quseir its own character. Keep it as an idea for a change from a beach-focused day.

Luxor: two banks, two storiesEast and west banks

On the Nile’s east bank, Luxor and Karnak temples reveal the scale of the ancient city. The west bank tells the story of its burial grounds. Separate those themes in your plans so each outing has a focus of its own.

Aswan: islands and the Nile’s rhythmElephantine and Philae

Elephantine and Philae give Aswan an island perspective, while traditional markets bring you back to city life. If you enjoy mixing monuments with everyday impressions, leave time for both rather than only one major outing.

Siwa: another chapter of EgyptOasis and Amazigh culture

Siwa brings together Amazigh culture, palms, olive trees and salt lakes, with the Great Sand Sea around it. Treat the oasis as a distinct theme for a trip: somewhere to give your attention, rather than simply another name on a list.

Fayoum: a lake and craft storiesLake Qarun and pottery

Lake Qarun, rural landscapes and traditional pottery give Fayoum a different mood. It is a place to pair scenery with smaller human stories. Start with what draws you most: the water, the crafts or simply a change of surroundings.

A day you will want to remember

Leave room for something new: a walk, time on the water, local stories and small discoveries.

Wadi Al-Hitan: a sea story in the desert

Ancient whale fossils at Wadi Al-Hitan tell the story of these animals’ transition from land to sea. The UNESCO-listed site offers an unusual sense of time: looking across a desert while imagining a very different world.

Thebes: choose one historical thread

Karnak, Luxor, the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens belong to ancient Thebes’ heritage. Choose a theme instead of one crowded list: temple architecture or funerary monuments. It helps the details become a story you can follow.

Abu Simbel and Philae: monuments and their rescue

The temples of Ramses II at Abu Simbel and the sanctuary of Isis at Philae share another story: their rescue from rising waters in UNESCO’s international campaign. Keep that chapter alongside the architecture as you get to know the monuments.

Picture your day on holiday

Wake up by the sea, linger over breakfast or head straight out to explore? Tell us how you like to spend a holiday. These few details will help you choose a stay that feels right for you.

Beach

Do you love a long swim or a walk along the shore? If children are coming, tell us what kind of water access works for them.

Before choosing a hotel, check the walk from your room to the water, including any steps, road or jetty. A beach photo may leave that part out.

Room

Does one person turn in early while another likes to read? A separate bedroom or the right bed layout can make the stay easier for everyone.

Save the exact name of the room you like, then check its beds and where everyone will sleep. An extra bed may be different from the main ones.

Meals

Days by the pool and long days out call for different meal plans. Start with how much time you want to spend at the hotel.

Check serving times and which drinks your plan includes. For a full-day outing, think ahead about where you will have breakfast and lunch.

Travellers and price

Tell us who is travelling, the children’s ages and the amount you would like to spend for everyone. If your dates are flexible, add that too.

When comparing options, look beyond the room. Check whether transport, luggage and transfers are included, and which costs you will pay during the trip.

A beach is more than a photo of sun loungers

Check whether you enter the water from shore, a pontoon or a designated area. Children and confident swimmers may have different priorities. If marine life matters to you, check the arrangements at the actual hotel instead of relying on the destination’s general description.

  • How easy it is to enter the water
  • The beach and swimming areas
  • Children’s facilities for the relevant age
  • Services and restrictions for the activities you want

Facilities should fit your daily habits

Think about whether you need pools, activities, children’s areas or quieter spaces. A facility listed on a hotel page does not explain its opening hours or whether it is included in the price. Check the details and conditions that matter to you.

Consider the whole journey to your stay

Compare the departure city, journey time, transfer and room. Convenient travel can matter more than a small price difference. Check baggage and transport in the actual offer; they are not the same for every tour.

Narrow the choice with a few clear priorities

Set your dates and travellers, then add what your stay must include: meals, budget or essential facilities. If there are few options, relax a less important condition. Compare the total price and inclusions rather than an isolated starting price.

Questions before you choose

How can I tell if a beach suits children?

You need the hotel’s actual details: shore, jetty or steps, shallow area and swimming rules. A resort name does not show how your child will enter the water.

What should I include in the total tour cost?

Use the same party, dates, room and meals. A per-person price differs from the total for everyone. Allow for included services and mandatory supplements.

Can I start without exact dates?

Yes. Write down your travel preferences and review them. Then click “Add contact details”, enter your phone number or email and send your enquiry. Check dates and other trip details before sending.

Where can I find entry document requirements?

Before travelling, check the destination, transit countries and carrier requirements for your documents and dates. Rules can change, so check them again closer to departure.
